We’re With You Every Step
Accredited Training conducts on-site training for many leading companies who make use of Truck Mounted Cranes, Overhead Gantry and Mobile Elevating Work Platform also known as M.E.W.P.
Cranecourse requirements
While many people feel their operators are good at operating a crane, and should easily pass the required machine check and practical operation tests, they do not realize that a high percentage of the course involves rigging.
We are bound by the Code of Practice, gazetted in June 2015. This Code provides direction regarding the training of all lifting equipment operators with the objective of ensuring standardized crane training, and safety standards that will impact on reducing the risk of injury or death to persons or damage to the plant or equipment. While many operators do not do the rigging themselves, it is imperative that they recognize the rigging of the goods they are lifting is, in fact, correct, before lifting the load.
LEARNER ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
During the training, the Operator is encouraged to take part in the activities and, wherever they feel necessary, ask questions and enter discussions that have meaning to the topic. The training is meant to enable the Operator to master the skills, and this can only be done by the Operators making the effort to learn.
Our facilitator’s purpose is to guide and assist the Operator on the path to competency. While the training is not necessarily a part of the productive work place, operators will be expected to behave in a manner required in the work place whether it is wearing of personal protective equipment where necessary or any other general ethic.
The Workbook provided is a reference book and a workbook combined, and must be completed and kept safe for Assessment purposes.
FACILITATOR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Operator credited with the Unit Standard is able to operate a counter-balanced lift truck or Crane in a safe manner. They will also be able to conduct pre and post inspections to ensure the performance of the lift truck. The Operator will be able to handle the loading and storage of freight by using the equipment and its accessories in the required manner. They will also be able to access emergency system and services in the event of an incident or accident.

This real-life experience helps from the premise of our training.
After they complete the Novice course which consist of a theory test as well to practical tests and machine check, trainees that been found competent will be issued with a carry card and a certificate of competency.

Re-certification Training
In terms of the law, all Operators who apply for Re-certifications need to be in possession of a Novice course certificate. Please be aware that certificates need to be renewed within three months after date expiry.
Accredited Training believes that training should yield benefits, far more substantial than just “a Certificate”. We offer a free service that will remind all Companies or private Operators that their certificates need to be renewed.
All training is conducted under strict supervision to develop advanced skills for lifting operations.

Forklift training
Forklifts are extremely dangerous machines in the hands of untrained operators. All operators need to be trained thoroughly against their unit standards. We do onsite training that comes at competitive prices and appreciate feedback from our clients to improve our standards.
Our close association with the suppliers of Mobile Racking Equipment has led us to develop modules specifically designed for operators using this specialized equipment. We have trained throughout South African in Cold Room and ambient temperature stores.
